Why is it so important?

The pericardium is the gateway to the heart, a vital organ par excellence. One of the main functions of the pericardium is to protect the heart from intense and excessive emotions that cause physical ailments. It is so important that Traditional Chinese Medicine has given it its own meridian, unlike the brain, attributing to it the responsibility of governing the blood and housing the Spirit and directly governs consciousness, memory, sleep, thought, emotions, speech, JOY and HAPPINESS.

The pericardium is composed of cells that move and have a breath: the LIFE Movement. When everything is in harmony the movement that occurs is one of expansion, the direction of the movement being from the center towards the periphery. On the other hand, when fear, anger or grief appear, they provoke a change in this direction of movement and the cells retract to protect themselves. It is then that the pericardium contracts or shrinks to protect the heart and, in doing so, triggers a cascade of reactions that activates our sympathetic system through the stellate ganglia and the subclavian loop, putting us in stressful attitude. It prepares us to go into fight or flight mode, blocking our energy and thus provoking various ailments in our physical body.

Therefore, it is the one that watches over us and warns us if there is something that is not working at all in our life. When the Pericardium is expanding, it is like a seed that carries all the energy from the heart to the rest of the body, which is why it is so important to have a free Pericardium!

How does the Life Movement work?

Each and every cell of our body moves. They are animated by a perpetual and infinite movement: the Movement of LIFE. It starts from a spark, the Spirit which is universal and common to all living things. From this spark, like a Big Bang, will be born a movement of energy in the form of Lemniscat or infinite 8, which will expand in all planes of space forming the Flower of Life. This movement is the Soul, which is the LIFE that animates and creates all living beings. The materialization of this Soul is the physical Body. which is therefore unique and unrepeatable.

This movement is very minute at the cellular level but in the body as a whole it is palpable with proper attention and presence. In the same way we can feel when it is in expansion or retraction, appreciating its direction, amplitude and rhythm.

How is the pericardium released?

Since we are born we accumulate experiences and emotional shocks, conscious and unconscious, until there comes a time when the Pericardium is so cramped and tight that it is necessary to release it so that the energy of our heart and our body can flow. We know that the Pericardium moves, therefore, by paying attention through therapy, we can feel its subtle movement and see where the blockage and the locked up emotion that causes the injury in the body is lodged.

The most effective way is to help us to release this blockage with manual therapy of the Pericardium release, created by Montserrat Gascón, whose purpose is to free the energy contained in the heart and release the retractions and tensions of the physical body. Thus we help to restore the balance of health, homeostasis, allowing the cells to regain their vitality, unblocking the self-healing systems and thus promoting healthy energy and biological exchanges.
